Daniel Conway
President / Director of Economics & Market Analysis
Daniel M. Conway is a real estate marketing and research authority specializing in residential, commercial/industrial and golf course developments. He has had over 55 years’ experience as an urban land economist and Mr. Conway has testified as a subject matter expert on real-estate issues over 50 times in various courts and arbitrations. He is a frequent guest speaker for economic associations and trade organizations and is a member the Urban Land Institute. He has served on 38 ULI Panel advisory service assignments and has been a real estate and urban land economic honorarium instructor at the University of Colorado and at the University of Denver. He has published many articles including the CCIM Magazine piece entitled “Market Analysis, the Road to Profit, Prosperity and Peace of Mind”. Mr. Conway’s other professional and community activities include precious owner and membership on the Board of Directors of a Federally Chartered National Bank and a board member of the Mile High Transplant Bank. He also participated on the Archbishop’s Inner City Sun School Committee to assess the future needs of elementary education in the inner city of Denver.
For the last 25 years, as President of THK Associates, he has conducted numerous residential, commercial, industrial, self-storage, and golf course economic feasibility and market studies, socioeconomic impact assessments and financial planning studies in all fifty of the United States, as well as in a number of foreign countries.

Kevin Shanks

Vice President / Director of Landscape Architecture & Planning / Principal
Kevin Shanks has over 42 years of experience as a Landscape Architect. For the last thirty-eight years, he has been a Senior Landscape Architect and Project Manager for THK Associates, Inc., responsible for projects that require a full range of landscape architectural services. His experience is in land use planning, project master planning, preliminary and detailed site design, graphic presentation, construction documentation, specification writing, irrigation design and construction administration. In addition to his project responsibilities, he is Vice President and Principal of THK and manages the Landscape Architectural and Planning Department, overseeing all design and planning projects undertaken by the firm. As a practicing Principal, he still manages complex, multidiscipline community interest projects with diverse stakeholders.

Peter Elzi Jr.
Certified General Appraiser / Principal
E. Peter Elzi has been with THK Associates, Inc. since 1981 and during that time, he has assisted clients with development and financing decisions concerning all types of land uses including golf course, self-storage, residential, office, industrial, hotel/motel and related opportunities. He has completed over one hundred fiscal impact, Special District/TIF financing structures and related assignments in his career. Over the last 41 years, he has examined projects in over fifty major metropolitan areas around the nation. He is especially adept at examining market strategies for various types of properties.

Julie Gamec

Certified General Appraiser / Principal
Julie Gamec is a Principal and registered Landscape Architect for THK Associates, Inc. She received her B.S. from the University of Colorado, Boulder, where she studied Architecture. Landscape architecture has been a perfect blend of her passions: the built environment and horticulture. She specializes in transportation infrastructure, river restoration, park master planning and private development entitlements. She has managed large and complex projects in addition to being a team member on many large, multi-disciplinary teams. Key projects in her career include the Old Game Check Station and Veteran’s Memorial Tunnels in Idaho Springs, CO, I-25/Ilex reconstruction in Pueblo, CO, Fountain Creek Restoration projects in Pueblo, CO, Aurora One development in Aurora, CO and Kings Point South development in Aurora, CO. Julie enjoys seeing projects through construction and often performs construction observation for the firm’s projects.

Sam Spicer
Project manager / Landscape Designer
Sam Spicer is a recent graduate of the Landscape Architecture program at Colorado State University. Originally from Saint Louis MO, Sam has found his place in Colorado and loves everything the state has to offer. With a huge appreciation for the urban environment and sustainable infrastructure, Sam found his passion for Landscape Architecture through connecting open and natural spaces with the built environment.
He has built up a well-rounded skillset in visualization, 3-D modeling, and photorealistic graphic preparation and looks forward to expanding on those skills throughout his career. He joined THK in August of 2021 and is excited to get his career off to a great start.

Katie Haskins
Planner / GIS Specialist
Katie is a recent graduate of the Bachelor of Arts Environmental and Sustainability Studies program at UNCO with special interests in GIS and the relationship between people and the nature that surrounds us. Her senior research focused on the connection between drought, ranching, and rangeland management on the Western slope of Colorado and Wyoming. She hopes to help build relationships between people and the environment through GIS and natural resource planning.

Donna Mahagan
Senior AccountaNt / HR Manager
Donna Mahagan graduated in 2006 from Regis University with dual degrees, Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Bachelor of Arts in Organization Development. She joined THK in July 2021 and is responsible for Accounting and Human Resources.
Prior to joining THK, Donna worked at the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, Denver Branch for 25 years and with a local apartment investment and management company for 15 years.
Donna is an avid reader and her greatest joy in life is her family, especially her granddaughter.

Valerie Ouedraogo
Accountant
Valerie Ouedraogo graduated in 2012 with a Master of Science in Accounting from Suffolk University, Boston, Massachusetts. She also earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Finance in 2008 from the same university. Her professional background includes working as an Accountant, an Analyst and in the mortgage industry. She joined THK in July 2021 and is responsible for Accounting and Human Resources.
Valerie is passionate about travel, cooking and astronomy and is fluent in both French and English.

Grace Batey
Landscape designer
In the Spring of 2023, Grace Batey graduated from Colorado State University with her Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture. Being a Colorado resident her whole life, she has developed a deep appreciation for the natural beauty and unique landscapes of the state. In her career hopes to create sustainable and resilient designs to help foster the connection between people and the natural world. In her free time, Grace enjoys traveling, painting, and volunteering. Grace is very excited to start her career at THK.

Connor Kubilus
Graphic Designer
Connor Kubilus graduated with Bachelor’s degree from Colorado State University in late 2019 and has been working as a professional graphic designer and Illustrator for the past four years. He has dedicated his career to visual design and works tirelessly to make any project he works on visually interesting and effective work.

Ned Prosser
Senior Market Analyst
Ned Prosser returned to THK in 2021 after a 10-year hiatus following a 17-year tenure with the firm. Ned specializes in golf-related studies, valuations, and analyses, as well as feasibility studies for special use type projects which have included RV Parks, Marinas, Waterparks, Dude Ranches and Athletic Field Complexes, He is also well versed in performing market studies for traditional land uses, including residential, office, retail, industrial and hotel purposes. Over his career, he has completed hundreds of assignments in over 40 states.

Market Analyst
Alex Mwamsindo graduated with dual degrees in 2019 in Bachelor of Business Administration, Economics, and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics at Wichita State University. His passion for crunching numbers, financial analysis, business, and economic forecasting influenced his decision to major in Economics and Mathematics and is dedicated to developing and implementing reliable processes that meet business goals.

Todd Brock
Market Analyst
Todd Brock earned a Bachelor of Science in Real Estate and the Built Environment, with a Construction Management focus from the University of Denver in 2017. After graduation, Todd worked for CIG in commercial and residential construction. In 2021, Todd earned a Master of Science in Real Estate and the Built Environment with a Property Development focus from the University of Denver. Project Manager
Anthony is a Landscape Designer and Project Manager, specializing in both public and private sector projects of varying scales. His experience spans from smaller parks to expansive corporate campuses, where he has honed his expertise in planning, coordination, and construction administration. Anthony thrives in collaborative environments, contributing to multidisciplinary teams to ensure the successful execution of detailed and complex projects. He maintains clear and continuous communication with all stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle, knowing communication is key to a successful project.

Taryn Farber
Landscape Designer / Ecologist
Taryn Farber is a tri-lingual urban ecologist and landscape designer with over ten years of experience in public-oriented ecology roles in every major US region. Before joining THK, Taryn researched microbes of native marsh grasses to assess their health in the aftermath of the Gulf Coast’s BP Oil Spill. She was an Urban Forester for the District of Columbia, monitoring and inventorying tree health, function, and aesthetics on city streets and parks. This experience encouraged her to research related topics as she moved to California to earn her MA. There, she designed and executed her own research project interweaving plant disease, fungal, intersectional, urban, and political ecologies to investigate the health of urban parks and their visitors – from the invisible, microbial, to the human and tree- levels.

With over 43 years in land planning, urban design, and landscape architecture, Craig Karn, former Principal and Founding Partner of Consilium Design, is a nationally renowned expert in community design and real estate development. Craig achieves success with a wide range of challenging projects through an emphasis on quality, sustainable design, and an uncommon respect for the design process. He’s driven to bring great communities to life. Craig’s experience includes large-scale land development planning, golf communities, mixed-use master planned communities, and the design of a variety of neighborhoods and urban spaces. He is active in the master planning and design of communities across Colorado as well as throughout the United States and internationally.
